On May 25, 1996: Bradley Nowell
dies at the age of 28.

His body was found by his dog,
Lou, approx. 8 A.M, in his San Francisco hotel room. The Coroner
found the cause of death to be a heroin overdose. Brad left behind
his wife of one week, Troy, and his 11 month old son, Jake.
He
had been struggling with heroin for 2 years, and had tried to
get clean when he learned of his coming child. His work with Sublime
had already produced 3 full length albums, 2 of which were released
on the MCA label. He had been recording for a third major release
at the time of his death.
