On April 6, 1998 :Wendy Orlean Williams
dies at the age of 48.
 April 6th, 1998 will be a date remembered
forever in punk music history. On this day Wendy Orlean
Williams decided to end her life by committing suicide.
Most of us knew Wendy as the "Queen of
Shock Rock", a title bestowed upon her early in her career.
What most of us didn't know is that she had a more caring and
tender side too. At the time of her death Wendy was residing
in Storrs, Conneticut and was working as an animal rehabilitator.
Rod Swenson, Wendy's former manager and longtime
companion, stated that Wendy had been despondent for a long period
of time. He said that Wendy felt she was past her prime
and found it hard to lead a normal life. Swenson found her
body in a wooded area behind their home. Wendy had died
of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. She was 48 years old.
Thousands of fans around the globe and those
closest to her that she left behind all mourn her passing.
Wendy O Williams will be truly missed.
